Water has to be my love language. I’m happy when I’m drinking water, when I’m at the beach, in the shower and I love looking at our pool and swimming in it! They also help thin mucus, which is great for our lung health.

In 2020, I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis, widening of the bronchial tubes, and later non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM), a lovely bacteria that was living in my lungs and I’d cough up daily.
When I googled bronchiectasis it said it was a chronic condition that had no known cure. In essence, I’d be living with it for the rest of my life. This was reiterated to me by medical professionals, they had no answers.
Googling NTM wasn’t much better. It was an antibiotic resistant bacteria, meaning it didn’t matter how many antibiotics I took I may not get rid of it. Also, at the time, it was unknown which antibiotics would be best. It was believed that a long course (over 6 months) of varying antibiotics could possibly get rid of it, but there were no promises.
What I’m sharing here is my journey with bronchiectasis and NTM. Plus what I’ve done to heal, in essence what’s worked and what hasn’t, and why some things work better than other things.
My belief is that we can heal, we just might not have the answers yet but when we go on our journey we can find the answers that work for us.

Cucumbers help us hydrate our bodies and they have so many other benefits including the fact that they taste great (to me) and they can improve our lung health, just by being themselves. How cool is that!
Pears can add moisture to our lungs, reduce phlegm and may clear heat in our bodies – all of this can support our lungs.
