My eyes are stinging, my breathing isn’t super easy, and I’m wondering if you’re having the same issues?
As I stood on the deck of a home in Calwell last night celebrating the end of 2019 and watched the smoke roll in, we were quick to get inside to protect our bodies, including our lunges and liver.
Maybe our partner is there to show us the way.
And they don’t even know it.
We often tell our partner that they should do something, say look for a new job, and 6 weeks later, our partner comes back with an amazing idea and they’re so proud of themselves and yep it’s the one you had. Or they come home from having coffee with a friend and tell you that the friend suggested they take the car in for a service to check that noise out – something you suggested 6 months ago – they now think its an awesome idea so they’re going to do it.

Years ago my Dad said to me ‘you work hard all week, going to the gym and eating well, then on the weekend you blow it. I don’t get it’.
My Dad’s a considered man. When I say that, I mean he’s lovely, kind and thoughtful and rarely does he say things that make me re-look at what I’m doing. I guess having 5 children (3 of them girls) tells you that they’re going to make their own decisions, some good, some not so good, but at the end of the day if they’re all ok, he was ok.

I always find the start of the netball season tricky. When I say the start it used to be the fitness/training component – these days, fitness and training doesn’t exist (unless you do it yourself), warmup is definitely optional and the game weeellll if you play a whole game that’s called ‘drawing the short straw’ – except if your me, everyone knows I’ll stay on for as long as needed – 5th quarter anyone??
Contrary to what some might believe, I do love a good camping trip. In 2002, I flew to Alice Springs and did a 8 day swag tour of Uluru, the Olgas and Kings Canyon. I didn’t shower or bathe for 8 days – I had 1 swim in the Garden of Eden at Kings Canyon and changed my knickers every day.
In July 2018 we took receipt of our Swan Outback Camper Trailer – the ‘Well Oiled Wagon’. We’d previously had a soft floor camper trailer, which we brought brand new in 2016 and due to its complex and timely set up, we were done. Also, my husband thought he wanted to go off road – one motorbike trip away showed him that we’ll never be going off road, not full on ‘off-road’ anyway.
I want to let you know before you read this, that I’m going to be talking about my period. This has been a closed subject in my life for a long time and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Please know, I’ll be describing situations that have happened to me, some will be funny but perhaps for some, they might be uncomfortable or confronting. I’m sharing this to bring awareness and I’m not asking for advice or guidance, I’ve got that sorted. If you read this post and it resonates with you I’d love to hear about your experience.
